Get ready! It’s about time you experienced a restorative summer!

Whether you’re spending the summer ensuring the kids have a wonderful school break or trying to complete all the tasks you postponed for the last three months, summer can be either a time of restoration (and rest) or a time of overwhelm and chaos.

With the above in mind, have you considered using Biblical restoration to recharge your mind, body, and spirit? Doing so is especially crucial before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

Merriam-Webster defines restoration as returning to a former position or condition: REINSTATEMENT. As believers, there is an even better definition that adds something that only God can do! The addition includes bringing it back even better and more abundant than the former position and condition. Therefore, if we claim the summer as a period of restoration, we can then assume it’s possible to be spiritually better than we were when we started!

How does one tap into this promise? The Bible outlines several ways:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone; the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

If my people, called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

You’ve been busy taking care of everyone else all winter and spring long, and it’s about time you rest awhile so you can better assess where the gaps are. Where is there a deficit? Do you need more self-care? Do you need more time to get into The Word regularly? It could be as simple as tapping into how your mood has been lately. Getting adequate rest is vital, and rest time can enhance your mood. As a result, it will improve your relationship with others and your Father.

Life can be filled with many challenges, and stressful situations can threaten your spiritual, emotional, and physical health. If you sense that something is off, use the Summer months to recalibrate! Spend time in quiet meditation reading God’s word and listening to His still, small voice as He guides and directs your life. You do not have to be burdened with stressful situations that keep your mind in turmoil. When you allow time to ‘be still,” you will experience the inexplicable joy and warmth of God’s love!

We are almost in the final week of the summer, and it’s time to regain your power and peace! Schedule that Spa Day you’ve been thinking about get some exercise, and start practicing healthy eating habits. Love yourself and nurture your spirit. You are essential to your tribe, friends, and families, but you are God’s unique daughter.

So, take care of the most valuable person in your life – You.
